New Delhi: The BJP on Sunday launched Tiranga Yatras in several states ahead of India’s 80th Independence Day, with party leaders calling for greater awareness of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters and martyrs and respect for the national flag.
In Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav participated in the Tiranga Yatra and said remembering the revolutionaries and martyrs who fought for India’s freedom was the responsibility of every patriot. He said similar programmes were being organised across the country ahead of August 15.
In Uttar Pradesh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said the programmes also carried significance in connection with Kakori Rail Action Day. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath joined a Tiranga rally and said the country’s youth have the ability to meet emerging challenges and should be provided appropriate opportunities and platforms.
A Tiranga rally was also held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, under the leadership of Minister Jogram Patel. He said the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was providing an opportunity to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters while encouraging citizens to display the national flag.
The BJP said Tiranga Yatras are being organised in different parts of the country as part of the celebrations leading up to Independence Day.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, under which citizens are encouraged to display the national flag at their homes, will also continue as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
