Bengaluru: The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday launched a sharp attack on Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge, alleging that the state has turned into a hub for drug trafficking and demanding decisive action against the drug network or his resignation.
In a strongly worded post on X, the BJP claimed that drug menace in Karnataka had worsened after the Congress came to power, with narcotics allegedly reaching school and college campuses.
“Karnataka has now become a drug trafficking factory. Since the Congress assumed office, drugs have flooded educational institutions,” the BJP alleged, triggering a political storm on social media.

The party accused drug peddlers of openly targeting students while the home minister remained preoccupied with political campaigns. “Instead of focusing on power politics, the home minister should dismantle the drug network in the state. If he cannot do so, he should resign and step aside,” the post said.
The remarks sparked a heated debate online, with the ruling Congress yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
