Bengaluru: Crop insurance policies were distributed to more than 4,000 farmers at the ‘Raita Spandana’ programme held in Doddaballapura under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, BJP MP Dr. K. Sudhakar said.

Highlighting the importance of crop insurance, Sudhakar said the scheme provides financial protection to farmers during difficult periods, including droughts and crop losses. He appreciated the efforts of the local MLA’s office and the Anjanadri Charitable Trust for stepping forward to pay insurance premiums on behalf of the farmers.

Such initiatives help support farmers facing distress and strengthen confidence in the agricultural sector, he said, stressing that crop insurance is essential for safeguarding farmers’ financial security and promoting stability in agriculture.

The programme was attended by BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashoka and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, along with other party leaders.
