Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra on Tuesday broke his silence over the alleged audio leak involving former Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda, saying it would be inappropriate to comment without verified information.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Vijayendra noted that Sadananda Gowda had categorically denied that the voice in the viral audio clip was his.

“It has not been officially established whether the viral audio is genuine or fabricated. Sadananda Gowda himself has clarified that it is not his voice,” Vijayendra said.

Describing the issue as sensitive, the BJP state chief said no conclusions should be drawn until the authenticity of the audio is verified through proper investigation.

“It is not appropriate to react hastily on such a sensitive matter involving senior party leaders without accurate information,” he said.

Responding to another issue, Vijayendra said the controversy over alleged cross-voting during the Legislative Council elections had now been resolved within the party.

The alleged audio clip has sparked political debate in Karnataka, although its authenticity has not been independently verified, and Sadananda Gowda has denied any connection with the recording.
