Thiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday carried out searches at the residence of senior CPI(M) leader and former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan as part of its probe into the CMRL-Exlogic monthly payment case.
Officials said the agency intensified its investigation into alleged financial transactions involving Exlogic Solutions, the IT company linked to Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan, whose statement has already been recorded in the case.

Around 6 am, ED teams simultaneously launched searches at nearly 10 locations across Kerala, including Vijayan’s residence near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. Offices of Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and premises linked to senior company officials were also searched.
The action follows a recent order of the Kerala High Court allowing the investigation into the financial dealings between CMRL and Exlogic to continue.
Sources said investigators are examining digital devices, financial records and transaction details as part of the probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Officials said Pinarayi Vijayan has not been formally questioned so far, though his statement may also be recorded as the investigation progresses.
