Coimbatore: K Annamalai, head of the We the Leaders Foundation, has welcomed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks that India belongs to all communities, saying the country must uphold its values and present its best image to the world.

Annamalai expressed support for Bhagwat’s statement, made during his visit to the United States, that Hindus who claim Muslims and people of other religions have no place in India are “completely wrong”.

He said Bhagwat’s annual Vijayadashami speech was followed with keen interest by many and welcomed the RSS chief’s assertion of India’s inclusive identity.

Annamalai also observed that global interest in India and its civilisation was growing, with people across the world watching the country with increasing curiosity.

He stressed that India’s leaders and citizens should conduct themselves in keeping with the high values and standards the country has traditionally upheld, adding that the nation must present its best self to the international community.
