New Delhi: India will host the 5th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) in New Delhi in February 2027, coinciding with the Swarnim Jayanti celebrations of the Bharatiya Tatrakshak (Indian Coast Guard).
As part of preparations for the summit, the Bharatiya Tatrakshak on Wednesday hosted a Working Level Meeting (WLM) in hybrid mode.
The meeting discussed key institutional and organisational arrangements for the summit, including updating the CGGS Meeting Guidelines, strengthening information-sharing mechanisms and further developing the CGGS website.
Participants also discussed ways to strengthen collective capabilities through greater exchange of professional expertise, operational experience and best practices among maritime agencies.
The meeting reviewed the proposed activity calendar for future collaborative engagements aimed at promoting sustained cooperation and strengthening maritime partnerships.
The 5th CGGS is expected to provide a platform for participating maritime agencies to deepen coordination on issues related to the safety and security of the global maritime domain.
The summit will also reflect India’s MAHASAGAR vision and its commitment to building a collaborative, inclusive and forward-looking maritime order.
The Indian Coast Guard said it remains committed to contributing to international efforts aimed at ensuring the safety, security and well-being of the global maritime commons.
