Iran, Oman Agree to Resume Talks on Strait of Hormuz Security
Tehran: Iran and Oman have agreed to resume technical and political discussions aimed at ensuring safe navigation and freedom of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Oman News Agency.
The decision was taken during a meeting in Muscat, where officials from both countries agreed to continue consultations to find solutions in accordance with international law and maintain maritime security in the strategically important waterway.
The talks come amid heightened regional tensions following allegations of attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz and the recent escalation in the US-Iran conflict. Iran had tightened its control over the waterway after the US-Israeli military strikes earlier this year.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said Washington has agreed to continue diplomatic engagement with Tehran despite the formal end of the ceasefire. According to Trump, Iran sought the continuation of negotiations, and the US accepted the request while making it clear that the ceasefire was no longer in effect.
