Bengaluru: The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday intensified its attack on the ruling Congress amid growing speculation over a possible leadership change in Karnataka.
Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka said the state needs a complete change of government and not merely a new chief minister.
“What Karnataka needs today is not merely a change of Chief Minister, but a complete change of this anti-people Congress government,” Ashoka said in a post on X.
He alleged that governance in the state had collapsed since the Indian National Congress came to power in 2023, claiming that issues concerning development, farmers and youth had been ignored.

Ashoka said the government was consumed by internal power struggles over “who gets the chair”, adding that discussions on power-sharing had turned governance into “street drama”.
The BJP leader claimed that Karnataka would not benefit whether Siddaramaiah continues, D. K. Shivakumar takes over, or another leader is appointed.
“This government has no vision for development, no concern for farmers or the future of youth. Its only agenda is power politics and selfish interests,” he alleged.
Ashoka also warned that people would soon give a “befitting reply” to the Congress for what he described as infighting at the cost of Karnataka’s development.
