Panchamasali Community to Stage Hunger Strike in Belagavi on December 10
Bengaluru: The Panchamasali community has announced a day-long hunger strike in Belagavi on December 10, pressing for inclusion in Karnataka’s 2A reservation category and Central OBC status for Lingayat sub-sects.
The decision was discussed at a district-level organisational meeting held at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bengaluru during the Kittur Rani Channamma Jayanti celebrations. The meeting was also convened to mobilise support for the proposed agitation.

The hunger strike will be held from sunrise to sunset in the presence of Basava Jayamrityunjaya Swamiji of Koodalasangama. Organisers said the protest would mark the second anniversary of what they described as government action against the Lingayat community.
Panchamasali Mahasabha USA convener Chandrakanth Yatnatti, Panchamagowda Dyamangowda and Kakatiya Raju Bagewadi were among those who attended the meeting.

During the programme, B T Jeevan of JSS College, Bengaluru, was appointed state president of the LPVP Student Council, while Sachin Biradar was named general secretary. Both took an oath of service.
Tribhuvan Gowda and Sharanappa Balekayi were also felicitated for their contributions to Prasada Dasoha (community food service).
