Lucknow: The Union Ministry of Labour and Employment, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, will organise a two-day ‘Shram Samvad’ programme on labour codes, welfare and social protection in Lucknow on October 26 and 27.
The event is part of a 90-day nationwide outreach campaign launched on September 28, covering 316 districts across all 36 states and Union Territories. It aims to improve awareness of labour reforms and compliance requirements among employers and other stakeholders.
The first day will focus on labour reforms, international labour mobility, social protection for unorganised and gig workers, and welfare initiatives for construction workers. Sessions will also cover the role of ESIC and EPFO and technology platforms such as e-Shram, Shram Suvidha Portal, SAMADHAN and Labour Stack.
The second day will examine implementation of the four Labour Codes covering wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety and working conditions. Discussions will also cover employment and pension schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.
Strategies to prevent child labour, support rehabilitation and eliminate bonded labour will also be discussed. Open sessions will allow participants and industry representatives to raise compliance concerns and seek practical clarifications.
