Bengaluru: The much-awaited Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13 has finally begun, with 16 contestants from diverse backgrounds entering the reality show. The latest season brings together faces from Kannada television and cinema, along with social media personalities and contestants who have already made their mark on other reality shows.
From a veteran filmmaker making a comeback to television actors, social media stars and popular faces from Agniparikshe, the contestant lineup promises plenty of drama and entertainment.
So, who are the 16 contestants competing for the Bigg Boss title? Here’s a look at their backgrounds.
Om Prakash Rao: Veteran Kannada filmmaker Om Prakash Rao is not new to the Bigg Boss house. He had earlier participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 4 but had to leave the show due to health issues. He has now returned for another innings.
Sangeeta Bhat: Actor Sangeeta Bhat, who has been associated with the Kannada film industry for several years, had taken a break from acting. She is now looking to make a comeback with what she describes as her second innings.
Prathama Prasad: Prathama Prasad, daughter of veteran actor Vinaya Prasad, has entered the Bigg Boss house this season. Her participation has already attracted attention given her family’s long association with the Kannada film industry.
Yashas: Yashas, an engineer by profession, is known for playing Suraj’s brother in the television serial Pavitra Bandhan. His entry brings another television personality into the competition.
Vaishnavi: Known for her outspoken nature, Vaishnavi rose to popularity through the serial Mithuna Rashi. Her bold statements and personality have made her a familiar face among television viewers.
Avinash Shatamarshan: Avinash Shatamarshan has appeared in Kannada films, including Kannada Akti Vinta Purmi, which was released in 2018. He is now set to test his mettle in the Bigg Boss house.
Kavya Gowda: Actor Kavya Gowda gained popularity for her performance in the serial Bhagyalakshmi. She is now among the 16 contestants hoping to win over the Bigg Boss audience.
Gagan Chinnappa: Gagan Chinnappa is a familiar face on Kannada television, having acted in serials including Mangala Gauri Sambal and Sita Rama Kalyana. His entry adds another popular television personality to the lineup.
Asia Firdos: Actor Asia Firdos, who has appeared in serials such as Kanyakumari and the recently concluded Shravani Subramanya, has entered the Bigg Boss house.
Soundarya Shetty: Born in Muscat and brought up in Mangaluru, Soundarya Shetty is currently based in Mumbai. She had earlier participated in the reality show Splitsvilla and is now making her entry into Kannada Bigg Boss.
Jagadish: Popular on social media as ‘Jagga Mommy’, Jagadish has also acted in Love Mocktail 3. Hailing from Mahadevapura in Mysuru, he is now looking to make his presence felt inside the Bigg Boss house.
Tandav Ram: Television actor Tandav Ram, who has been active in the industry for several years, is originally from Hassan. He completed his education in Hassan and has a strong connection with the district.
Kiran Shastri: Kiran Shastri, from North Karnataka, became popular through the reality show Agniparikshe. Known for his distinctive speech and performance, he is expected to bring his own style to the Bigg Boss house.
Dhanush: Dhanush, who has claimed to have travelled across several countries on a bicycle and earned a Guinness World Record, also appeared on Agniparikshe. His unusual journey is likely to be one of the talking points of the season.
Likhit Gondi: Likhit Gondi made a mark through Agniparikshe and has now secured a place in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 13. Interestingly, his father had also participated in Agniparikshe.
Modern Mahakavi Manju: Manju, popularly recognised from Agniparikshe as Modern Mahakavi, has also entered the Bigg Boss house. His selection was reportedly based on the judges’ choice, making his entry another interesting addition to the season’s diverse lineup.
