BJP Using Kumaraswamy as a Political Pawn: BK Hariprasad
Bengaluru: KPCC President B.K. Hariprasad on Monday alleged that the BJP is using Union Minister and JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy as a political pawn in Karnataka.
Addressing a press conference at the KPCC office, Hariprasad claimed that the BJP has a history of weakening its alliance partners in several states and is now adopting the same strategy in Karnataka. He alleged that Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is using Kumaraswamy for political purposes.
Responding to the BJP’s allegations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Hariprasad said the Election Commission’s guidelines allow enumeration forms to be filled at public places such as community halls, mosques and temples. If there are any irregularities in the process, he said, the Election Commission itself would examine and address them.

Claiming that there was an attempt to remove nearly 50 lakh voters from the electoral rolls, Hariprasad said the Congress supports the removal of only fake, duplicate and deceased voters, while ensuring that genuine voters are not deprived of their democratic rights.
Stepping up his attack on the BJP, he alleged that the party was resorting to political tactics because it was unable to win the people’s support through democratic means. He also challenged the BJP to explain Union Minister Pralhad Joshi’s contribution to Karnataka’s development.
KPCC Working President G.C. Chandrashekhar, Senior Vice-President V.R. Sudarshan, Media and Communication Department Chairman Ramesh Babu, and other party leaders were present at the press conference.
