Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has congratulated filmmaker Anuya Swamy and the team of Pankaja for winning the Best Live Action Short Film award at the 34th Raindance Film Festival in London.

In a post on social media, the Chief Minister described the achievement as a proud moment for Karnataka on the global stage.

“Heartiest congratulations to Anuya Swamy and the entire team of Pankaja on winning the Best Live Action Short Film award at the 34th Raindance Film Festival in London,” Shivakumar said.

He noted that the achievement makes Anuya Swamy the first Indian filmmaker to receive the festival’s highest honour in the category. The award also qualifies Pankaja for Academy Awards (Oscars) consideration.

The Chief Minister said the recognition showcases the creativity, talent and immense potential of Karnataka’s storytellers on the international stage.

“Wishing Anuya Swamy and the entire team many more milestones in the years ahead,” he added.
