Bengaluru: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has once again invited Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to visit Bairamangala and directly interact with farmers opposing the proposed Bidadi Township project, reiterating his demand that discussions on the project be held in the presence of those likely to be affected.

In a post on social media platform X, Kumaraswamy said he had written to the chief minister for the second time, urging him to meet farmers concerned about losing their land to the township project.

“As stated earlier, I will be available in Bairamangala on June 27, 2026, to interact with farmers and other stakeholders affected by the project. I hope the chief minister will respond positively and join this effort to hear the concerns of the people at their doorstep,” he said.

Kumaraswamy maintained that his stand on the proposed township remains unchanged. He stressed that any discussion on a project with significant implications for farmers’ land, livelihoods and future should take place in Bairamangala itself.

“This is not merely an administrative issue. Those who will be directly impacted must be part of the discussion and decision-making process,” he said.

The former chief minister also made it clear that there was no question of retreating from his position on the issue and reiterated his support for the farmers opposing the project.

The proposed Bidadi Township has emerged as a major political issue, with farmers and opposition leaders raising concerns over land acquisition and its impact on local communities.
